House Tour: Guest Room

My mom is coming to stay with us for a couple of weeks on Monday so I went in to straighten up the guest room a bit today.  I decided to take some photos of the room to add to my portfolio and slideshow and I realized I might as well do a post about a few little things I added.  I know if you have been reading this blog for a while, you have seen the guest room many times before but this will be the last for a while, I promise!

In the photo above you can see a couple of prints under the little demilune table next to the bed.  One is an antique lithograph a friend gave me and the the other is a cat portrait I got in London.

Thanks for indulging another post about the guest room!  Hope you have a great weekend!

I need to catch up on your posts and read about your projects. I love the fabric that you chose for the drapes. And I also love the demilune table and the pieces of art that you’ve added. Looks like a nice guest room to spend some time in – she will enjoy it.

Thanks Holly. I am really enjoying catching up on your blog too. I love all your design boards and am particularly in love with the one for the nautical entryway. I love that bench!

Hi Lane…visiting from Cottage and Vine. So fun to find a fellow Bay Area blogger…I live in Danville…and host the blog Elegant Nest. I love your guest room decor and have been enjoying browsing through your blog archives. Looking forward to reading future posts!

love the coral fan boxes! Coral just seems to fit in all kinds of spaces – doesn’t have to be “coastal”. Glad to have discovered your blog on Pinterest!

I just stumbled upon your blog and then this post. I absolutely love the style of this room (not to mention the rest of your house)! And, the curtains- oh my goodness, so beautiful! Did you buy the fabric and make them, or did you buy them somewhere? I’d love to replicate these curtains in my own guest room.

    You are so talented!

      Hi Anne,

Thanks for your kind comments. I ordered the fabric years ago from Waverly and had them made. The fabric is no longer available and to be honest, I can’t remember what the name of it was anyway. I did a big search for it a year or so ago and came up empty. It is lovely and I have always wanted to find it again.

I’m in the process of redoing the guest room as my middle son has long suffered sharing his brother’s room and has requested his own space (even if it is the smallest room in the house). The curtains are coming down and I am thinking of selling them through the website. Let me know if you are interested in them and I will contact you first. I think it will be around $400-$450 for the pair.

      Thanks again for contacting me!

I just stumbled on your posts through pinterest. I love the photos of your house. It is so similar to what I am trying to do in my house. What is the paint color in your guest room? I am trying to find a neutral to put through the whole house. ( I currently have a darker beige throughout) I want to lighter everything up and bring in the greens and blues but also don’t want to go to gray since my stuff is warmer and I can’t buy all new. Any suggestions on color for walls.

Hi Stephanie. Thanks so much! The paint color is Morning Dew by BM. It’s very versatile. Good luck!
