I started Urban Orchard Interiors in 2011 after a lifetime love of interior design and all things decorative and DIY, two home renovations, and years of designing and decorating for family, friends and acquaintances finally made it impossible for me to call designing a “hobby” anymore. The blog grew out of a need to share this passion and connect with others who share a love for beautiful spaces.
Growing up in the South, living in my grandmother’s home surrounded by antiques and family heirlooms led me to appreciate the beauty in an object’s history. Imbuing a feeling of character is a high priority for me when designing for clients. Creating a beautiful and functional space that also has a sense of authenticity and meaning to the people living there as well as the home itself is always the goal. And I love to hunt for incredible finds at flea markets and salvage yards to find the perfect piece to bring a room together.
I now live in Berkeley, CA with my supportive husband, three young children and two neurotic cats. Having lived in San Francisco and the East Bay for almost 16 years has added an eclecticism to my design style as well as an appreciation for that extra something that makes a good room great.
