This is just a sneak peek, but I am currently doing a living room for a client who loves color. There were many places we were able to save some money (her MIL is a fantastic sewer and made these curtains) but we did splurge on the fabric. It really makes the space.
Forgive the grainy photos–it was actually a really cloudy morning. This is the beginning of her vignette in her front picture window. The table was repurposed–she had it elsewhere in the house and I painted it to freshen it up a bit. The walls had old striped gold wallpaper and we nixed that in favor of a neutral wall color to balanced the brightness of all that cranberry. You can see the top of her cranberry colored sofa in the above shot. These sofas that she had purchased a few years ago were the jumping off point for the whole scheme.
Here is a close up of the painted table. We chose black to help it disappear into the window. It has some mild distressing on the edges.
I was also able to repurpose some lamps she had with some paint and then adding some trim detail on the shades.
Another bonus was removing some old carpeting to find lovely hardwood floors underneath. Although there is some damage, we were able to hide most of it with neutral sisal rugs. This also helps balance out the color and large scale pattern by adding some neutral texture.
I think some more will be going in this weekend so hopefully I will have more pictures soon. She has been a really fun client to work with. Thanks for checking it out!
